4th International Training Network (ITN) Training School and the Management Meeting, National University of Ireland, Galway, Ireland.

4th International Training Network (ITN) Training School and the Management Meeting was held at the National University of Ireland in Galway (NUIG), June 13th – 17th, 2016 (http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/generic/decide/meetings/4th-ITN-Training-School.aspx). Early Stage Researchers (11 persons), including Mr. Sharmin Nadkarni and Mr. Narasimha Bolla Rao from our Institute, presented the results of their research for the last three years. Our fellows presented their data on the synthesis and biological evaluation of vitamin D analogs on several in vitro models. The results were discussed by all the fellows and the invited world experts in the field: Prof. George Studzinski from the Rutgers University, Prof. Antonio Mourino, from the Chemistry Department of the University of Santiago de Compostela and by Prof. Michael Danilenko, from the University of Negev. Individual talks with the fellows, regarding their research progress and current plans, was guided by the Research Director of the Project, Prof. Rhodri Ceredig from NUIG. The lectures for the fellows were given by the invited scientists from NUIG, by Prof. George Studzinski and by Dr. Piotr Rudzki, the Head of our Pharmacology Department. The current cooperation between the fellows and Partners within the work package WP2 was also discussed at the Management Meeting. The next Management Meeting was planned to be held at the University of Basel, on Feb. 1st-2nd, 2017.
